After 5 years as a Warlord, Tyler Warren will be wearing a uniform of a different colour come post season play. The 21 year old was released on Tuesday and will head to the nearest centre which will be the St. Catharines Spartans to compete in the playoffs for them. Being a last year player, and with the Warlords out of the playoffs, it was just right for Tyler and us as an organization to to let him try to catch on with another team. Tyler leaves us as the All Time Leading assists leader with 116 and the all time leading point earner with 162 on 46 goals and 116 assists. He also now is the all time leader in regular season games played as a Warlord at 84, surpassing Tyler Tanguay who played in 83 games as a Warlord. Tanguay did not return to the Warlords this season as he was signed by the St. Catharines Athletics to play Junior A. We wish Tyler all the best.
The Warlords will be looking to move their other 21 year, #61 Joe Wormald. "Joe will definiely help a team defensively in the playoffs", says team GM Bob Wright. " "We have contacted some teams and are just waiting to hear back from them".
Meanwhile the Welland Warlords used their last trade of the year to pick up Kyle Parson from the Spartans.
