Fundraiser for injured Welland Warlord player set for October 9

Everyone has heard by now that Welland Warlord Player, Walter Lumsden was seriously injured in a swimming accident. He has suffered a severe head, neck and spinal injury. Our Hopes and Prayers for a successful recovery go out to Walter.

Walter is a wonderful young man. He was a graduate of Lakeshore High School in Prot Colborne and was entering his second year at Guelph University. He excelled in many sports including Lacrosse, Hockey and Football. He also has a thriving small roofing business and is employed in the summer with the Township of Wainfllet.

Walters is currently at St. Micheals Hospital in Toronto fighting for his life. His Family has put everything on hold to be by his side.

A fundraising event is being held at Club Richeleau in Welland on Sunday October 9 beginning at 7:00 PM. Any help that you could provide in the way of a prize, supplies or monetary gift would be greatly appreciated.

All monies raised will be put into a special account for any needs that will arise for Walters recovery and rehabilitation. To make a donation or donate a prize please contact

LORI OSTRYHAN (905-899-0430) or JIM COCHRAN (905-835-9021 Ext 22)
