The Niagara Varity Spears Football Club held its annual banquet on August 15, 2011 at Club Roma.
This event was attended by players, parents and three university football teams; Guelph, Laurier and McMaster. Gary Jefferies Manager of Football Operations and Head Coach of Wilfred Laurier University Football team was the guest speaker stressing the importance of achieving excellence in the classroom and on the field. Guelph University Head Coach Stu Lang and John Cassanta Defensive Assistant presented the Niagara Spears with a picture with names of 21 players who played for the Niagara Spears.
The banquets main focus is to recognize the outstanding effort of all the players who participated on all three teams this year along with past players and builders.
