The Chippawa Riverhawks defeated the Dundas Blues 4-1 in the deciding game of their Quarter-Final series.
After a scoreless opening period at the Market Street Arena in Dundas, the Riverhawks finally solved Blues goaltender Michael Destro.
Matt Goch, Taylor O’Brien and Dalton Riley all scored to put the Riverhawks up 3-0 after 40 minutes.
Dundas finally got on the board about 6 minutes into the third period when Mitch Reid found the back of the net.
The Blues, however, were unable to get any further despite firing 20 shots in the third period at Riverhawks’ goaltender David Johnstone, who played outstanding.
Goch would add another goal for the Riverhawks with just 36 seconds left in the game.
Final shots on net were 42-24 in favour of Dundas.
The Riverhawks will now move onto the East Division Semi-Finals and will play either Grimsby or Glanbrook depending on the outcome of the other Quarter-Finals. That series between Caledonia and Dunnville is currently tied at three games each with game 4 set for Wednesday.
