Brock women's soccer blanks Mustangs 2-0

 LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University women's soccer team (3-4-2 OUA) defeated the University of Western Ontario Mustangs (2-6-0 OUA) by a 2-0 score Saturday afternoon in London.

In the 12th minute, the Badgers took a 1-0 lead when sophomore forward Kelly Miller (Brantford, Ont.) found the back of the net for her first goal in the 2011 season.

Junior striker Lindsay McDonald (Burlington, Ont.) doubled the Badgers lead in the 30th minute with her second goal of the season.

Freshman goaltender Amber Cubitt (Georgetown, Ont.) made six saves to secure her first-ever shutout as a Badger.

The Badgers will look to strengthen their playoff position tomorrow when they travel to Windsor to play the Lancers at 1 p.m.

The Badgers currently sit in fifth place in the OUA West, but are only three points out of second place in a division that has four teams separated by three points.
