Brock men's soccer unbeaten in four with 1-1 tie against Windsor

Windsor, Ont. - The Brock University men's soccer team (3-5-3 OUA) competed hard but ended up with a 1-1 draw Sunday in Windsor against the Lancers (2-3-5 OUA).

The Badgers took the lead in the 35th minute when freshman Derek Paterson (Niagara Falls, Ont.) netted his first goal as a Badger.

The Lancers tied the game in the 80th minute with a goal from freshman Paul Frenken (Nijmengen, Netherlands).

Badgers senior goakeeper Ryan Toale (Brampton, Ont.) continued to make the big saves when needed and racked up nine saves in total throughout the contest. In 920 minutes of action this season, which leads the OUA, Toale has posted a 3-4-3 record with a 1.47 GAA and three shutouts. Lancers goalkeeper Dejo Olagbegi (Lagos, Nigeria) registered seven saves.

The Badgers will look to extend their four-game unbeaten streak (1-0-3) when they host the Guelph Gryphons (6-3-1 OUA) on Friday, October 7 at 3:15 p.m.

Brock currently sits alone in fifth place in the OUA West Division with 12 points (3-5-3), one point ahead of Windsor (2-3-5) and three points ahead of Laurier (2-5-3).
