Brock men's soccer fights No. 6 Western to 0-0 draw

by Brock University

LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University men's soccer team (3-5-2 OUA) fought to a scoreless draw Saturday in London against the No. 6 ranked University of Western Mustangs (4-1-4 OUA).

Both teams created good scoring chances throughout the match, but it was Badgers senior goaltender Ryan Toale (Brampton, Ont.) who made the save of the match in the 88th minute to secure the point for his team.

Toale has posted three shutouts this season and is fast becoming one of the OUA's top goalkeepers.

With 11 points, the Badgers sit in fifth place in the OUA West and are showing excellent mid-season form with five points in their last three games (1-0-2).

On Sunday, they travel to Windsor to play the Lancers in a crucial match because the Lancers sit one point behind the Badgers in the OUA West.

Keys to the victory will be the Badgers ability to contain Windsor's top striker Michael Pio, and they must put some goals past Windsor keeper Sam Atkin who has 1-0-4 record and a miniscule 0.80 GAA.
