Why advertise on LocalSportsReport.com?
There is no denying that online advertising is growing fast! The problem for local businesses is that the majority of websites out there are not locally focused. If you’re a large national company, you will have no problem finding a selection of suitable websites to advertise on. If you own a local business however, your choices are limited.
This is where LocalSportsReport.com comes in. All of the content on our website is local, which in turn attracts a local audience. Our Niagara Region website gets approximately 65,000 visits and over 400,000 page views a month, making us one of the top viewed local websites in the Niagara Region. In addition, we cover a wide variety of sports including major local teams like the Niagara IceDogs all the way down to youth and high school sports. Our users range from hard core sports enthusiasts to mothers and fathers looking to get the latest news on their son’s soccer team. LocalSportsReport.com attracts the visitors that matters to your business.
In addition, our company is built for the internet. Traditional newspapers have large staffing requirements and high overhead expenses. This results in the need to charge higher advertising prices for their online news site. This high price puts website advertising out of reach for many local businesses. At LocalSportsReport.com, we keep our overhead costs low and in turn, are able to offer ad prices that are affordable for local business owners.

The growth of internet advertising?
Traditionally, local television and newspapers were the primary sources of local news. However, looking at the latest statistics, that is no longer the case.
According to the State of the News Media 2011 Report published by the Pew Project for Excellence in Journalism, 46% of people now say they get news online at least three times a week, surpassing newspapers (40%) for the first time.
The report also found that according to survey data, people are spending more time with news than ever before, but when it comes to the platform of choice, the web is gaining ground rapidly while other sectors are losing. In 2010, digital was the only media sector seeing audience growth.
Advertisers are reacting to this change. In 2010, for the first time more money was spent on online advertising than on print newspaper advertising. Online advertising overall grew 13.9% to $25.8 billion in 2010, according to data from eMarketer.
The Pew Project for Excellence in Journalism also stated that roughly 40% of all online ad spending is now local, up from 34% only a year earlier.
